Recent changes with the Schuylkill Canal Association

We regret to inform you that Betsy Daley is no longer the Executive Director of the Schuylkill Canal Association.  The past few years have been economically challenging for us and we could no longer operate as we had in the recent past.  Betsy resigned from her position for the mutual benefit of the Association and the Daley Family.  Thankfully, she has been helping us transition to our current state as a volunteer run organization.  This is not the first time that we have operated without an Executive Director.

This change means that the interior of Lock Tender’s House may not be as accessible to park users as it has been in the past.  The Lock Tender’s House will continue to be open on the third Sunday of each month.  Moving forward it may take us a little longer to respond to requests for information or to return your phone calls.  We don’t plan to go anywhere and we are looking forward to seeing you at all of the events that are planned for 2013 and beyond.  Now more than ever we need your support as members, volunteers, and advocates for the canal area.

We apologize for taking so long to post this notice; we have been very busy completing the many tasks formerly completed by Betsy.  A copy of the press release initially reporting Betsy's resignation can be found here.
