Join SCA for an afternoon out on the water paddling the 5-mile water trail loop with one of SCA's experienced paddlers as your guide. Visit the Locktender's House before or after the paddle, enjoy some light refreshments and learn a little bit about the history and heritage of the Schuylkill Navigation. Be sure to hang around until 3 PM for the lock opening.
The Locktender's House will be open to visitors all afternoon, paddlers who plan to participate are encouraged to pre-register but are not required. Paddlers need to provide their own boat or rent one from the Port Providence Paddle at the Fitzwater Station, 610-935-2750, www.canoeandkayak.biz. All PA Fish and Boat Commission regulations are to be followed; all boaters need to have a PFD (lifejacket) and whistle or noise maker for safety purposes.
