The Schuylkill Canal Association welcomes visitors to the Locktender’s Open House during the third Sunday of each month from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM to participate in our monthly program.  The educational programming is provided to increase awareness of the history of the Schuylkill Navigation and the recreational features included along the park’s 3-mile linear greenway.  Program details as well as other scheduled events can be found on the SCA Online Calendar.

Scheduled openings of Lock 60 are held on the third Sunday of the month at approximately 3:00 PM, weather permitting, shortly after the Locktender’s Open House program has concluded.  Volunteer lock tenders are always needed.

SCA also encourages the general public to attend its Board of Directors meetings scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month and to join one of our working committees; the dates, time and meeting place are also listed on the SCA calendar.

Thanks to the generous support of Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County and the Association’s sponsors and members program admission is low or no cost.  Donations are always accepted to help offset the cost involved with educational programming and outreach.

Programs are subject to change without notice; please visit this page SCA online calendar for the most up-to-date information.
